New Style Crush Alert: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

I have a new style crush! Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been making the promotional rounds for Transformers: Dark of the Moon and she’s been looking impeccable. I know that she is a model and is paid to look good in clothes, but it’s the over all styling, attitude, and smolder she brings to each look that makes her stand out.

Rosie wore Michael Kors on several promotional stops. In Moscow, the beauty wore a long fushia draped gown with thigh-high slit. Simple blush tone pumps and subtle makeup completed the look. In Rio, Hungtinton-Whiteley once again sported Michael Kors. This time she embraced a black chiffon jersey Michael Kors Fall 2011 dress with a black leather belt. Super sleek hair and sexy strappy heels umped the sexy factor without looking like she was trying too hard.

For the Moscow premier, Rosie shut-it-down in a Gucci Fall 2011 gown. The single shoulder chartreuse top and see-through chiffon skirt was absloutley stunning. The model-turned-actress added Vhernier and Jack Vartanian jewels to the look.

The next stop on the whirlwind tour brought the Transformers cast to Berlin. During the press conference, RHW wore a plunging maroon Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2011 sheath with blush pumps and JewelMint jewels.  It seems like she has prefected the sophisticated yet ultra-sexy look. Later that night she wowed the masses in  a Fall 2011 gown from one of my favorite designers, Naeem Khan. The silver short-sleeved gown with open-back looked breathtaking. A thin silver belt, studded black earrings, black nail polish, and Veronica Lake hair were the perfect touches to a stellar gown.

The British model then headed towards to her home country. It came as no surprise that the Burberry spokesmodel opted to wear a look from the quintessial British brand. Her hair was pulled into a bun to show off the details of the custom made midnight blue gown. For the after party, Rosie changed into another Burberry design. She wore a long-sleeved off-white dress with a key-hole front and gold embellished shoulders from the house’s lastest Resort 2012 collection. Her accessories on this ocassion were truly droolworthy: a gold Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and Azzedine Alaia taupe suede sandals.

Hungtinton-Whiteley did not forget the good ole- U.S. of A. She made the talk show circuit rounds before heading to the New York premier. At Late Show with David Letterman, she wore yet another Michael Kors look. The blush sequined halter top paired with wide leg blush trousers from the Michael Kors Fall 2011 and volumious hair with big sunglasses looked perfectly 70′s-chic. At  Regis & Kelly, RHW once again wore a blush ensemble, this time from The Row’s Spring 2011 collection. At Late Night with Jimmy Fallon she changed it up a bit with an all-black look from Dolce & Gabbana. I love the vest but I LOVE her Jimmy Choo sandals even more. I also loved the change in hair with a half-up half-down do.

For the big NYC premiere, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a Fall 2011 Antonio Berardi shimmery red strapless gown with a slit up the middle and fitted bodice. Long wavy hair, her favorite blush pumps and thin silver choker completed the look.

Rosie, FNS loves your style!

A Fête for a McQueen: The 2011 Met Gala

Actors, models, and designers descended on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum for the Annual Costume Institute Gala. This year’s Gala celebrated the work of the late great Alexander McQueen. The tragic designer’s works were on display with the debut of the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibit. The “Super Bowl of fashion” brought out dramatic gowns, slinky dresses, and sparkling jewels (especially in the hair!).

Gisele Bundchen

As expected, many of McQueen’s designs were showcased on the red carpet. Gisele Bundchen looked absolutely breathtaking in a fire-engine strapless fishtail gown from the design house’s Autumn 2005 collection. The Brazilian beauty dazzled with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels.

Heiress Daphne Guinness exemplified McQueen drama with in a lilac feather gown with exaggerated hips. The gown was from the Spring 2011 collection whilst the boots debuted on the Autumn 2011 runway. If this look were on anybody else, I would think they were trying too hard to be unique, but this is Daphne. She is quirky and lives for fashion. I applaud her for attempting to pull of such a striking gown. Model Karen Elson worked a gold sequined McQueen gown. Her luscious red locks and dramatic eye makeup perfectly compliment the look.

Model diva and friend of the late designer, Naomi Campbell, wore a McQueen Heraldic crystal embroidered tulle dress. She topped her look with a vintage Fred Leighton brooch in her hair, diamond drop earrings, and silver McQueen clutch. Campbell’s dress just makes me think of toilet paper. The crystal embroidery is gorgeous but the strings of white tulle prove to be silly, and distracting from Campbell’s beauty. Sarah Jessica Parker famously attended the 2006 Met Gala with McQueen in a tartan-inspired flared cocktail dress. The actress pays tribute to her late friend in an Autumn 2005 long-sleeved blush crystal embellished column gown. Bouffant hair, green pumps, and Fred Leighton jewels completed the cool. This the best SJP has looked in awhile and her makeup just glowed. Salma Hayek, who along with her hubby Francois-Henri Pinault, was honorary chair for the gala fittingly, wore McQueen. Frankly, this blush tulle gown with rosette detail at the hip does nothing for me and is just bland. I was expecting more from her since she was the evening’s chair. She needed to bring the “wow” factor with such a title.

Vogue Nippon’s Editor-at-Large, Anna Dello Russo, showed off her signature style in Alexander McQueen black pants with gold embroidery and dramatic blazer. The true star of her look is the white ball fascinator. Like Daphne, only Anna can really pull off these looks without thinking she has gone mad.
